EARLY INTERVENTION

Braces for Kids

At Pridemore & Cox Orthodontics, we offer braces for kids of all ages. So what is the best age to first visit the orthodontist? According to the American Association of Orthodontists, you should bring your child in for an exam around the age of seven. At this stage, many kids have baby teeth and adult teeth, allowing us to evaluate tooth development as they grow.

Early Intervention

With early treatment, we can watch for orthodontic issues that may arise as your child grows, reducing the need for extractions and surgery later in life. We can also help the effects of thumb sucking and improve speech impediments.

Do you notice any of the following in your child?

  • Unusually early or late loss of baby teeth
  • Crowding or spacing between the teeth
  • Difficulty chewing
  • Thumb or finger sucking
  • Mouth breathing
  • Popping of the jaws
  • Abnormal bite
  • Disproportionate teeth and jaws compared to the rest of the face

If so, contact us today to schedule an appointment. The sooner we can evaluate your child’s orthodontic development, the better!
